About Me

Lauren is a PA a Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She has worked for the JH Center for Transgender Health, a division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, since her graduation from PA school in May 2018. Lauren received her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Wagner College in Staten Island, NY.

Global Health Experience

During her time in PA school, Lauren had the opportunity to travel to multiple countries to complete international rotations as well as medical mission trips. In 2017, Lauren traveled for a one-week medical mission trip to Lake Atitlan, Guatemala and helped over 1,200 patients in 5 days. In 2018, she facilitated another medical mission trip to Huanchaco, Peru to deliver care to approximately 800 patients in 5 days.

Lauren was very fortunate to have two, one-month rotations in Belize and Guatemala. Her one month experience in Belize City, Belize was focused on patients in local medical clinics serving pediatric, adult, obstetric, and geriatric patients. In Guatemala, Lauren traveled to remote villages located around Lake Atitlan to deliver remote medical care. One project she helped to complete during her month in Guatemala included delivering vitamins and performing wellness exams to pediatric patients under 2 years of age to help Guatemala’s national project of fighting childhood malnutrition.

In addition, Lauren has had the opportunity to study psychiatry and socialized medicine in London, England in 2016.
